Garden Hose Fire Nozzles:

$20 at Home Depot,
Bonaire is the best so far!  Turns off at either end of twisting.
I have found that I keep the nozzle shutoff on the FAN end of the twist.  So when turning on the nozzle,
I'm not gouging the garden bed up, and I can have a relatively high flow rate with a low enery spray, perfect
for watering the clover, roses, potted plants.

$10 at Wal Mart,
Nelson is OK, except it only shuts off at the narrow stream (Max Thrust) end of twist. So when twisting on the nozzle, you
have the max cutting power stream of water, before you get to the gentle fan.  If your main use is for washing off driveways
or other more industrial use, Nelson is OK, for all other uses get the Bonaire Nozzle!

On either nozzle running FULL water main pressure makes the nozzle work best.  Leave the pressure regulator for the house... Tee off
before the regulator for the yard spigots.
